Training should address tissue depth, blood supply, nerves, movement, oral or nasal structures where relevant, existing piercings and reasons to decline or modify a placement.
Plan a suitable placement
Marking and jewellery should account for anatomy, symmetry, swelling, cleaning, movement, comfort and the client’s informed preference.
Practise safely
Needle handling, receiving, jewellery transfer, aseptic technique and aftercare should be developed through structured practice and appropriate supervision.
